I remember trying to build a small database for my online store, and I was overwhelmed by how much data I was dealing with. Like, customer info, sales figures, website traffic - it was crazy. So, I’m guessing these Vs have something to do with that, right? Can someone please break it down for me like I’m five?

Velocity is about how fast the data is coming in and needs to be processed. So, in your case, dealing with all this diverse and rapidly changing data is what the 3 Vs are all about.
3 Vs is a marketing or business term and Don’t read too much into it. It’s supposed to be catchy and evocative and not be a conceptual tool for analysis.
