Unlimited pto reviews

I’m currently job hunting and came across a position at Harris Poll that offers ‘unlimited PTO.’ I’ve heard about this concept before, but never experienced it firsthand. Looking at Glassdoor reviews for Harris Poll, I see mixed comments like ‘unlimited vacation is nice’ and ‘long hours, nights, weekends…’

So, how does ‘unlimited PTO’ actually work? It sounds too good to be true, so I assume there’s a catch. What’s the reality like when working for a company that offers ‘unlimited paid time off’?"

Counterpoint: The bulk of jobs with defined PTO will most likely just provide you with 3-4 weeks. Tenure can sometimes provide more benefits. Sometimes you can purchase a week or two of unpaid vacation. But it’s typically rather standard.

On the other hand, “unlimited” PTO is naturally more variable. Perhaps you’ll strike out and end up in a place where using it is frowned upon. But in my previous four organisations, I’ve never taken less than five weeks, and I’ve seen some folks take six or seven. It’s a cultural multiplier; when the culture is poor, it’s bad, and when the culture is great, it’s fantastic.

hi buddy absolutely! Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) allows employees to take time off as needed without a set number of vacation days at the start of the year. This flexibility is permitted as long as it doesn’t interfere with business operations.

Hi Matias… “Unlimited PTO” allows employees to take time off as needed without a specified limit on days. While this policy offers flexibility, its implementation varies widely among companies. Some organizations encourage work-life balance and trust employees to manage their time effectively, while others may have unspoken expectations or workload pressures that discourage extensive time off. It’s crucial to clarify how the policy operates in practice during interviews or discussions to ensure it aligns with your preferences for work-life balance and to understand any potential cultural implications or workload considerations that could affect your experience at the company.
