Hey everyone. This is my first post, so I apologize if I am in the wrong place. I am early in my career (0-3 years) working in data engineering and data science in the defense sector. I studied Computer Science as an undergrad and want to start a master’s program focused on data. My company will pay for it if it is online and part-time, so I am looking at online data science programs like Northwestern, Berkeley, and Johns Hopkins. My question is: Are these online programs worth it, or are they just ways for universities to make money? Are these degrees respected by big companies if I want to move to tech or finance in the future?

Hi Samwel, Try to Compare the cost of the program to the potential increase in salary and job opportunities. Some high-quality programs can be expensive, but they may offer substantial returns on investment.
I pursued a part-time master’s, and it was worth every penny.

Which master’s did you pursue?

Abroad in Spain, but I didn’t have any problems because I work remotely.
Just Fridays and Saturdays at night for ten months.

But which university and what kind of master’s? I’m in the Spanish countryside. Regards.

I studied big data science for my master’s at Universidad de Navarra. Really great; it costs about 17,000 euros.

A bit expensive, but thank you.
