Interview over the phone: Senior Applied Scientist at Amazon

Hello,

My initial interview for the job is scheduled for next week. A Senior Applied Scientist is interviewing over the phone.

According to what I’ve heard, Amazon in particular is picky about their behavioral inquiries. How do I get ready for it? Do I have to adhere to all of their rules, such as “customer obsession”? Does it have any excellent resources?

I’ve never been interviewed for that job before. Should I anticipate primarily:

a quick glance at my recent projects and resume?

hands-on coding (data cleansing, modeling, etc.) or queries with a coding/leetcode flair?

I have no idea what to anticipate or what to concentrate on. Are you willing to share your experiences? I might be completely mistaken, but I would think that a Senior Applied Scientist would be more interested in the technical aspects and less concerned with the behavioral aspects.

They will inquire if working five days a week is comfortable for you. “Yes,” you reply. The offer is then made to you.

Use the Blind app to speak with real Amazon staff members.

I’m grateful. Job interviews in Germany, where I live, are typically quite different.

I’d still recommend conversing with Amazon employees - they understand the culture and expectations better than most people here. They also have localized people resources that may explain the interview process.

Speaking with Amazon employees is still advised because they are more familiar with the expectations and culture than most others here. Additionally, they have information for local people that could help explain the interview process.
