I used to be able to tell if I failed an interview but now it seems even good questions and feedback and talking about the next steps just comes with rejections
I don’t get if the market has changed or I got worse.

The market has significantly deteriorated! It’s not exclusive to you.
The market is just oversaturated, it’s not you. What roles are you applying for? I’m seeing the supply/demand ratio shift drastically for DS/MLE, but the opposite trend happening for MLOps/Data Engineering type roles.
Right now, I have a premium account on LinkedIn, and I looked for various US data scientist opportunities. Clearly, I haven’t done enough market research, but there are at least 500 applications for every job I looked at, and in some cases, over 4,000. Perhaps others are simply a better fit.
I’ve had some luck returning emails from businesses I interviewed but were turned down. Essentially, I ask them what they can do better to have greater success the next time.
