I feel like I spend a lot of time not coding. More than coding, I use slides to discuss my findings and projections. Is this normal? Should I transfer jobs?

You’ll spend more time concentrating on big-picture concepts and less time coding as your career progresses. Additionally, you’ll be crucial in making sure that less experienced team members have the knowledge necessary to complete their tasks efficiently.

My coding burden varies a lot as a junior. I don’t do any coding at all some months, and I do it virtually exclusively others. Based on my personal and professional observations, it appears that this erratic pattern is rather common.
