Back with many Data science jobs in NFL, Formula1 and more sports!

Hey guys,

I’ve been silent here the last month but many opportunities appeared!

I run www.sportsjobs.online, a job board in that niche. I scan daily dozens of teams and companies.

I’m constantly checking for jobs in the sports and gaming analytics industry. I’ve posted recently in this community and had some good comments.

Here is a summary with some hand picked ones!

Actually these are from the last 10 days only! But in the last month we loaded around 200 jobs including many in the MLS, some more in NFL and Formula 1 and others more in the software and data engineering side.

I hope this helps someone!

I was going to criticize this but I see you link them to apply on the official pages (like Teamwork). Having an aggregator of sports jobs isn’t a terrible idea since they are often spread out across multiple websites.

Do you also scan the NCAA job market board? That’s where almost all NCAA sports jobs are.

I’m looking, but the NCAA board doesn’t seem to have any actual data/software related jobs. I could scan, but I’m not sure how much it will reveal. While I’ll keep an eye out in case I overlook anything, please let me know if you have a job link so I can see what can be done. I appreciate your input. Indeed, they are dispersed, making it challenging to stay in touch without wasting a lot of time.

Is it true that sports analytics jobs have bad work life balance?

My understanding is they tend to be worse due to being coveted. Lots of people would make that sacrifice to work for their favorite sports team

I believe this to be truer for some sports than others. My colleagues who work in data at major American sports leagues like the NFL and MLB put in a lot of effort but get paid well for it. Due to the strong international demand for vacancies, I worked in another major international sport and received very little pay.

Not many bad WLB stories have come to my attention, but most of them pay less than market because they are “passion jobs.”

Similar to Disney, where employees are ready to accept lower pay in exchange for the Disney brand and benefits.
